building online presenceWhen you first start off with your new online marketing strategy, your efforts will be centered around creating an online presence, branding yourself in a particular way and making sure that you get found online by the search engines.

The critical component behind all of this is having the right SEO in place – which is a whole science and complete topic of its own. Here we will assume that you have the right structure in place and are now just looking to generate an online presence, build a following and get your site and business found and recognized online.

Always be focused on the idea of building an online presence, creating relationships, being authentic and allowing the world to see your unique talents and expertise. Creating Brand Awareness is crucial and it is often the smaller details that can go a long way.

For example, make sure that you are consistent with your logo, image and tag line. Tag lines are what people will remember you by – so spend some time thinking about and creating one that works for your, matches your business and is catchy and interesting. Always be sure to run in by your friends, family and business associates – it may sound great to you, but be completely unappealing to the public.

Major announcement strategy

A great strategy to use once you have been established online for a while and after your initial launch buzz creation is to have a “major announcement”. For example, you could announce some major upgrades to your programs and packages, additional video content that is now available for free viewing or a free downloadable report that people can get from your website.

This will vary from business to business, but always be thinking about continually offering something new, improved and top quality. Quality in all that you do, create and publish is crucial! Do not do something simply to get your name out there and get found – as this could potentially damage your reputation if people see what you are promoting, creating and distributing as being of low quality.

Don’t Give Up Before the Miracle Happens!

Don’t fall into the trap of going too hard too fast and then being disappointed when you do not see instant result. The combination of SEO, Social Media Marketing and building brand awareness takes time, continuous effort and a pre planned, well strategized campaign that is focused on the long term. It is sad that so any people start off with their new online business, and then burn out simply because they did not have the patience and understanding that to stay in the game online you need to create a long term, sustainable strategy.

Always have a plan, a strategy and systems in place for the daily promotion tasks. Treat your online business like a real business!

Continuous, strategic and creative marketing is the key. Make sure you are always working on creating quality content and are flexibility in your marketing approach in order to keep up with the ever-changing online ecosystem!
